International boffins have been left mind-boggled after one of the MOST COMPLEX crop circles ever appeared in a British field – depicting one of the most fundamental symbols in maths.
The circle is, apparently, a coded image representing a complex mathematical number – the first ten digits of PI – and even astrophysicists admit they find it ‘mind boggling’.
The formation was created in a barley field near Barbury Castle, the iron age hillfort above Wroughton in Wiltshire in early June.
